Running to a total of 313 pages, edited by August Derleth, and featuring illustrations by Frank Utpatel, The Shuttered Room and Other Pieces was published in a limited run of 2500 copies by Arkham House in 1959. It has not been reissued.

The book contains a selection of works by Lovecraft - including several juvinilia and "posthumous collaborations" -along with a number of memoirs, reminisces and studies by both those who knew him and other, more contemporary, authors.
