| ~ Publishers description [1] |
The Spirits of London is part of Stygian Fox's Hudson & Brand, Inquiry Agents of the Obscure series of Cthulhu by Gaslight supplements, a milieu which "[takes] its inspirational cues from The Murders at the Rue Morgue, A Study in Emerald, This House Is Haunted, and the stories of Sherlock Holmes." [2]
The lion's share of the book deals with areas of London which may be home to instances of the supernatural or paranormal, rather than the forces of the Cthulhu Mythos. However, it also includes sections on a Serpent Person posing as a human medium, a Tcho-Tcho mob boss, and Mythos elements which may be mistaken for the supernatural., such as the Colour Out of Space, Dimensional Shamblers, the Hounds of Tindalos, Rat-Things, and a Mi-Go technological artefact,
