The Survivor and Others is a collection of short stories billed as "posthumous collaborations" between August Derleth and H. P. Lovecraft, released in 1957 by Arkham House. In fact, the stories were for the most part written by Derleth, based on unused story ideas jotted down by Lovecraft. With the exceptions of "The Survivor", published by Weird Tales in July 1954, and "The Gable Window", published (as "The Murky Glass") in the May 1957 issue of Saturn magazine, all the stories made their first appearance in this collection.
Ballantine Books reissued the collection in paperback in 1962 and again in 1971, and a French-language version has also been produced.
