It was published in the thematic anthology Tomorrow's Cthulhu by Broken Eye Books in January 2016.[1]

Synopsis[]

Casilda Carter, a woman whose family has long stood in opposition to the dark forces which threaten humankind, uses her technological expertise to warn the citizens of New York City of the coming of Hastur, an event which she knows will precipitate the destruction of the species. Attempting to rejoin her father in Arkham, Massachusetts, she realises that her opponent has tracked her to the family home, and prepares to sell her life dearly for the cause.

Mythos elements made mention of include the play The King in Yellow, nightgaunts, gugs, and Carcosa, as well as the real-world Essex County, Massachusetts. Additionally, during her escape from New York, Casilda mentions her desire to avoid the subway system, as she recalls a man named Pickman whose descendants released creature from the sewers, a clear reference to ghouls.
