The Worm that Gnaws in the Night is powerful massive polychaete worm-like fiend. It was observed by the wizard Eibon, who noticed that it was slowly eating at the planet Shaggai.

The worm has immense durability and might be one of the most powerful Great Old Ones. The Elder Gods couldn't even handle it and the worm has survived the radiation from the outer god Ghroth, who destroyed all life on Shaggai.

The worm is one of the only Great Old Ones on Shaggai, the other being Baoht Z'uqqa-mogg. it is also said to be too terrifying for words.
