The worm has immense durability and might be one of the most powerful great old ones the Elder Gods couldn't even handle it and the worm had survived the radiation from the outer god Ghroth witch destroyed almost all life on shaggai.
The worm is one of the only Great Old Ones on shaggai the other being Baoht Z'uqqa-mogg it is also said to be too terrifying for words.
