The Tomb Herd is a collective of extra-dimensional beings that feast in crypts by possessing statues. They are described in the Necronomicon as creatures that exist beyond the threshold of space. They were first described by Ramsey Campbell in his short story "The Tomb Herd", which later became known as "The Church in High Street".

Interestingly, they are very similar in most respects to the Weeping Angels who appear in Doctor Who much, much later.
