This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. Tony Balnco is a minor character created by American author C. J. Henderson for his Frank Nardi series of short stories.

History[]

Pre-Arkham[]

A police officer for the NYPD, upon retirement Balnco partnered with three other former detectives including Frank Nardi to form the Arkham Detective Agency, a private investigations company which specialised in cases with a supernatural aspect.

Death[]

Whilst providing security for an exhibit on ancient Egyptian culture at Arkham's Miskatonic University, Balnco encountered a mysterious entity who had visited the display for reasons of its own. Inadvertently insulting the being, he suffered a gruesome fate at its hands, being turned into a great gobbet of living, suffering flesh. At the request of Frank Nardi, who seemed to have gained a measure of respect from the entity, he was transformed back to a human corpse upon his death (EXP: "Cruelty" [C. J. Henderson]).

Resurrection and Final Death[]

Some months later the entity, now confirmed to have been the Outer God Nyarlathotep, returned to Balnco and gave him new life, encouraging him to seek out Frank Nardi and murder him. Why it chose to do this is not revealed. Luckily for Nardi, however, he was able to turn the tables on his would-be attacker and ended Balnco's life for good, granting his former friend the closure he so desperately sought (EXP: "Closure" [[[Glynn Owen Barrass]]]).
