Trail of the Loathsome Slime is a contemporary scenario supplement for Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, written by Marcus L. Rowland and issued by then-small press publisher Games Workshop in 1985. Little more than a booklet, it ran to a total of 16 pages, and also included player handouts and a handful of new skills for investigators to employ[2].
The base material from which Trail of the Loathsome Slime was developed first appeared in Games Workshop's hobby magazine White Dwarf #43 in June 1983 [2].
Trivia[]
- The title of the book appears to be a pun playing on the title of the song "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine" which was popularised by Laurel and Hardy in 1937 in the movie Way Out West, or perhaps the 1908 novel by John Fox Jr. which inspired it [3].
