This subject contains information from the "Lovecraft Circle" Myth Cycles, and while guided by HPL are not based on his work alone. The Star Xoth (referred to as "Zoth" in the Clark Ashton Smith stories) is a star referred to in the Cthulhu Mythos. It is famous because many deities were born there.

Gods[edit | edit source]

Idh-yaa, the couple of Cthulhu, lives in Xoth, and it was precisely there that she gave birth to her four children: Ghatanothoa, Zoth-Ommog, Ythogtha and Cthylla.

Other native Xoth gods are Ycnágnnisssz and his daughter Zstylzhemgni, mother of Tsathoggua.

Theories[edit | edit source]

Many believe that Xoth could be a name given to the star Sirius, since the Egyptian name for it is "Sothis", a word with a sound similar to that given in the Myths. Interestingly, many gods of the Egyptians or Dogon came from the star of Sirius.
